I don't hate babies. I don't even hate parents. I just wish parents would realize what enormous power they have over the rest of their children's lives when they give them a name. I wish parents would realize that kids grow up. Just because a parent likes the name Dymondlyn Shardonnae DaiseeBlossom or Dakoda Hunter Truck'Killah doesn't mean that it's a good name for a kid. Kids aren't accessories. If you want something with a cool name, buy a dog or a boat or some crap like that.
I have been described as "bidder," "caddy," and "a real bitch." I'd generally describe myself as a connoisseur of the absurd on the internet.
My friend wants to name her baby Caribou. I think it reminds me of an animal, maybe cute for a nickname. But what about a teenage or a senior citizen, in other words her entire life. What do others moms to be think?

Why would anyone name their baby after that?
When I read, "My friend wants to name her baby Caribou", I thought that the friend had a baby caribou, and was looking for a name for it.
I think it's a great name. She can name her next child Elk. Possibly even Mountain Goat.
Caribou? Isn't that a big moose or something? On the other hand I have a cousin named Bullwinkle Von Kluttz.
