It has a nice meaning too...
So this post is ancient, but I had to comment because I saw my middle name here (Eyan). I'm a girl. My mom had a Vietnamese friend named Yen (which is apparently pronounced basically like Ian) and decided that that should be my middle name, but she wanted to change the spelling (I guess to make it girlier?)
So whenever anyone asks my middle name, I have to tell a story instead of just give a name. And most people just choose to hear "Ann" anyway :(
Have you tried using a computer software to find those perfect names for you baby? You can just type in whatever letters you want in it, helps a bundle. I haven't bought one yet but my friend directed me to http://www.boygirlbabynames.com ... she says it helped her a bunch. Good luck!
My brother-in-law spells it Ian: I used to work with a Iain: my daughter was in school with a Ieuan (we live in Wales!) and I know a Eoghan.x

Spelling is very important for each unique baby names. Iyan is the best way to spell the name. Girls name Iyana ,i have found for twin baby name.
